Frequently Asked Questions About Online Therapy in Los Angeles, CA
Looking for a therapist can feel overwhelming — here are answers to some common questions to make things easier
-
Therapy isn’t just for when things are falling apart. It’s for anyone who wants to grow, heal, and feel more in control of their life. If you’re feeling anxious, stuck, overwhelmed in relationships, or just not yourself — therapy can help. What matters most is that you feel safe and supported with the therapist you choose.
-
I work with women in their 20s and 30s navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, codependency, low self-esteem, and life transitions. If you're not sure if we're the right fit, we can talk about that during our free consultation — and I’ll help you find the right support if I’m not it.
-
I draw from a variety of approaches depending on your needs, including somatic focus, mindfulness-based practices, attachment-focused work, and cognitive tools to reframe unhelpful patterns. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in helping you reconnect to your body and intuition.
-
That’s completely okay — you don’t need to have any experience. I’ll guide you through the process, explain what to expect, and make sure you feel supported every step of the way.
-
Absolutely. While some clients focus on current stressors, many also explore deeper roots of their patterns — including childhood experiences, relationship wounds, or unresolved trauma. You’ll always get to decide what we work on, and at what pace.
-
I specialize in working with women who feel like they’re “too much” or “not enough” in their relationships — and I help them rewrite that story. My work goes beyond surface-level advice and helps you deeply understand your patterns so you can experience real, lasting change in how you feel, connect, and show up in life.
-
Our first session is a chance for me to get to know you. I’ll ask about your history, current challenges, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. Together, we’ll start setting goals for our work together.
-
Each session is 50 minutes long and held weekly via secure video.
-
Most clients meet with me once per week. If you're going through a particularly difficult time, we may consider short-term twice-weekly sessions.
-
Sessions are $225 for 50 minutes. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need — please don’t hesitate to ask about this if you’re concerned about affordability.
-
I’m considered an out-of-network provider. Many PPO insurance plans will reimburse a portion of your therapy costs. I can provide a monthly “superbill” (special receipt) to help with reimbursement. I’m happy to walk you through the questions to ask your insurance company before we begin.
-
You’ll submit the superbill I provide to you directly to your insurance company. Be sure to contact your plan in advance to confirm what they cover for out-of-network mental health services.
-
I currently offer weekday evening sessions, but not weekends.
-
All sessions are held virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform (Zoom). I offer online therapy to clients throughout California.
-
Yes! Research shows that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person for most issues. In fact, many of my clients find it even more convenient and comfortable, since they can speak from the privacy of their own home or office.
-
It depends on your goals and the issues you're working through. While some clients benefit from short-term therapy (6–8 months), others choose to work together longer. We'll revisit your goals regularly to ensure therapy is working for you.
-
If you feel that therapy is not helping you, that is something that needs to be brought to your therapist’s attention so you can discuss goals and alternative options, if needed or desired.
Seeking a therapist is a big decision! I commend you for taking this step and I want to make sure you find the right fit. During the consultation, we’ll spend 15-minutes on the phone and I’ll let you know how or if I can help. If I am not the right person, I’ll do my best to get you to the right person.
